Help Notes:

Our guides provide full training and if their instructions are followed kayaking is safe and fun. Double kayaks are used for stability and the advantage of having two people sharing the paddling effort.

What to Wear:  Thermal, quick-dry fabrics are best eg. Polypropylene, polar fleece, wool.  Cotton clothing and denim is very heavy and cold if it gets wet.  For kayaking, we provide a spray jacket and buoyancy vest that will keep you warm on most days when paddling.

What to Bring:

  • Wool or polar fleece and a light rain jacket
  • We recommend cool, light, comfortable walking shoes (not flip flops, scuffs etc.)
  • Sandshoes, water socks or sports sandals for tidal crossing
  • Swim wear and towel
  • Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent

What is Included on Multi Day Tours:

  • All scheduled coach transfers from and to Motueka or Nelson
  • All top quality kayaking gear
  • Track notes, maps and advise from our expert guides
  • Accommodation in private twin/double room with ensuite and hot shower
  • Delicious fresh meals
  • Transfer and storage of luggage
  • Full boat back-up so you choose how much walking you want to do each day.
