High Ride Adventures is based in the Te Anau basin on a 975 acre sheep, deer and cattle farm and explores the surrounding back country. Take your pick from a scenic horse trek along the serene Whitestone river or a breath-taking quad bike ride over Danby Hill.

Departures:  Daily. Closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day. 


Transfers:  There is a complimentary shuttle service from Te Anau.


Help Notes:

  • All safety equipment and wet weather gear will be provided. Riders should bring warm clothing as weather can change quickly, wear trousers and sturdy shoes.
  • Combo deals are available.

A memorable trek through Te Anau's scenic countryside and along the Whitestone river. We have horses to suit all abilities from beginner to advanced so you can be sure of an enjoyable time. Our trained guides also provide tuition.  Small groups are a feature of the horse trek, as are the horses who are known for their responsiveness and individual character.

Minimum Numbers: No minimum numbers

Maximum Numbers: 15

Suitable for Children: Minimum age is 10 years old. If the child is not much younger than 10 and has had previous riding experience or is clearly capable they may be able to ride.

Tour Departures: 2.00pm to 5.30pm and 6.00pm to 9.30pm. If you are limited for time a 2 hour treck departing at 1.00pm is available.

Inclusions: Helmets and outdoor clothing will be provided.

An exhilarating and challenging guided trip that caters for all abilities. No previous experience is needed as our trained guides provide tuition. Ride through flat and gently rolling paddocks before the off road tour winds through Te Anau's back country hut. The climb to the summit of Danby Hill is a bit more challenging but as you reach the crest the view will take your breath away. You can see all the way from Lake Manapouri up Lake Te Anau and around to the Mavora Valley.

Minimum Numbers: No minimum numbers

Maximum Numbers: 10

Suitable for Children: No. Minimum age is 16 years old. If there is a child not much younger than 16 it will be at our discretion depending on their previous experience on a bike.

Tour Departures: 9.30am to 1.00pm,  2.00pm to 5.30pm and 6.00pm to 9.30pm

Inclusions: Safety and wet weather gear is provided.
