Help Notes:


  • Bring your camera, torch, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, swimsuit, towel, a fly head net (summer), toiletries, any medication required, walking shoes / boots, shorts. shirt and jacket (for cooler summer nights) and warm clothing (for cold winter evenings). Some listed items can be purchased from Wayoutback on departure.
  • A reasonable fitness level is required to be able to stay with the group whilst on all walks.
  • A degree of participation with meal preparation, washing up, setting up camp and collection of firewood is also required.
  • All dietary requirements to be advised at time of booking.
  • An accommodated safari option is also available.

3 Day Uluru - Red Centre "Goanna Dreaming" 4WD Camping Safari

Experience the wonders of Ayers Rock, The Olgas and Kings Canyon, driving on dirt roads in air conditioned 4WD vehicles, swimming in the tranquil 'Garden of Eden' waterhole, bush camping, eating quality food cooked over a campfire and sleeping under the clearest southern stars.

Day 1: After pick up from your Alice Springs accommodation we hit the road on an adventure of a lifetime (for those commencing the tour at Uluru, collection will be from the airport or Ayers Rock Resort). On the way toward Kings Canyon Resort, keep an eye out for Camels, Brumbies, Wedge Tail Eagles and a host of other exotic wildlife. We will include stops at Curtin Springs Cattle Station, Mount Connor (mesa tableland), Lake Amadeus (giant salt pan), The George Gill Ranges, Kings Creek Station and finally Kings Canyon Resort. Check in and have some free time before experiencing the changing colours of Uluru at sunset, complete with sparkling wine and nibbles.

Day 2:

View sunrise over Ayers Rock and The Olgas before heading off for a leisurely 7km walk through the "Valley of the Winds". Journey on to Kings Creek Cattle Station for another night bush camping, situated at our idyllic and private campsite which really is 'Way-outback', complete with unique bush toilet and shower. Enjoy dinner around the campfire with another night out under the stars.

Day 3:

A leisurely start to the day before we head off to Watarrka (Kings Canyon) for a 6km walk through the towering walls, crevices and plateaus of Watarrka. We'll visit the Amphitheatre and the Lost City plus the chance for a swim in the tranquil "Garden of Eden" before making our way back to Alice Springs.


For those departing the tour at Ayers Rock Airport, your guide will deliver you by 12.30pm.

For those returning to Alice Springs we commence our journey from the airport stopping at Curtin Springs Station for an Aussie BBQ lunch before carrying on to Alice Springs with an early evening hotel drop off and the option to meet later for a night on the town.


Lunch included on day 3 for Alice Springs originating guests only. No discount applicable to guests departing Safari at Uluru.

Departs: Daily 5.45am from Alice Springs/1.00pm from Ayers Rock Airport/Ayers Rock Resort
Concludes: Ayers Rock Airport 12.30pm and Alice Springs 5.30pm.

Tour Inclusions: Accommodation pick up, National Park fees, all camping equipment, swags, pillows, sleeping bags ($15 hire fee), reference books, chilled face cloths (summer), supplies of drinking water and meals (except breakfast day one and dinner on the final day).
