These full day tours are a delightful way to experience the magic of a train journey along with the Wairarapa Countryside. The Martinborough Wine Escape visits four vineyards for tastings along with lunch and cheese platter to conclude. The Garden Escape visits two absolutely stunning gardens, lunch in a Country Inn and wine tasting at a local vineyard.

  • These tours do not include Wellington accommodation transfers. Passengers to make their own way to the Wellington railway station.
  • Transfers form Wellington City accommodation can be arranged at an additional cost.

All tours Must be pre booked and reconfirmed 48 hours prior to departure.

Wairarapa Gourmet Wine Escape ex Wellington Railway Station

Visit four Martinborough vineyards and taste award winning wines. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Martinborough Village Cafe and then finish the day with a cheese platter and coffee or a further glass of wine. Enjoy a wander of the village before travelling back to Wellington or your Wairarapa destination.

Suitable for Children: No. Minimum age 18 years.

Suitable for Disabled clients: No

Departures: 8.25am to 5.20pm (Weekdays) 9.55am to 6.30pm (Weekends/Public holidays)

Tour not recommended for children but they are able to travel with their parents. Cost of train and lunch etc at own cost to be paid direct. No charge for them to be on coach.

Wairarapa Garden Gourmet Escape ex Wellington Railway Station

Visit Richmond, the very formal Italianic styled Carterton garden with NZ Gardens Trust 'International Significance' status. Assisi with its stunning views set high in the Gladstone hills with a 'National Significance' status. Lunch at the historic Gladstone Inn and a visit to a local vineyard for tastings is included. A wander of delightful Greytown finishes the day before returning to Wellington or your Wairarapa town.

Please wear appropriate shoes for garden visits and bring a warm, waterproof jacket if wet.
